Scoring For Thursdays
At a meeting of the Management and Sailing Committees last Sunday, we decided to restart scoring for sailing on Thursdays. Racing will be based on the highly successful handicap system used by the Kawana club on Tuesdays.
This format gives all sailors an opportunity to win on a given day if they sail well. Garry Russell has volunteered to calculate the results and in time others will learn how to run the spreadsheet to back him up. Results will be emailed and hopefully posted on our website.
On completion of the Handicap racing, time allowing, those interested in a few scratch races will be welcome sail on.
See you next Thursday.

IOM Scratch Results
A pleasent day of sailing was had by all 8 competitors, in shifty westerly winds . Well done Garry and Ron F with a joint win for the day.
Full results are now available.

DF95 Handicap Results
On Sunday 10th June 2018 we had a fleet of six DF95 yachts competing for our handicap racing. The wind was a bit challenging and the glare from the water out near the back mark was at times blinding, however, the day was competed well.
Marks’ new Orange Hull was easy to see and looks great.
No appearance from our resident Bull Shark, but a Stingray was airborn early to entertain the fleet, whilst they were preparing for the morning.
Full results of the day will be available soon.
Our next scheduled DF95 Event is on Sunday 17th June and is a Club Morning.
Paradise Radio Yacht Club … IOM Traveller’s Mug
PRYC is introducing a Trophy for competition by Visiting IOM sailors. The competition will be raced monthly in conjunction with PRYC Saturday nonchampionship scratch sailing days. Participants will be awarded their respective points in the PRYC scratch event which will be cumulative over each calendar year. The Trophy will be a traditional sailorʼs pewter mug, suitably engraved and apart from generating a bit of fun, it is hoped that over time “braggerʼs rights” might attach.
This first abbreviated year will commence on 7th July 2018, followed by: 18/8, 15/9, 6/10, 3/11 and 22/12. We look forward to hosting entrants on those days when PRYC normal sailing fees $4 will apply and no prior entry necessary, just turn up and sail.
Many thanks to Dennis for supplying some basic rules for us to have a look at. You can find these at Dragon Flite 95
